CANDLE CARE TIPS

CANDLE MAINTENANCE

BURN TIME
To make the most of your candle, allow enough time for the wax to melt to the edge of the container. This may take over an hour for each burn. Avoid burning for more than 4 hours at a time to prevent the container from overheating and breaking. Discontinue use when 5mm of wax remains at the bottom.

TRIM WICK
Trim wick to 6mm to ensure the flame burns at a steady temperature. This will prolong the life of the candle.
Tip: Trim the wick right after it is extinguished to prevent the wick from breaking too short. Black soot and/or mushrooming on the container may indicate the wick is too long. Simply extinguish the flame, trim, then re-light.

AVOID DRAUGHT
If a draught is present, this may cause the flame to burn unevenly and produce black smoke. If unable to avoid draughts, turn the candle periodically to assist the candle in burning evenly.

CANDLE TOOLS

WICK DIPPER
A wick dipper is used to extinguish the wick smoke-free. Gently dip the flamed wick into the melted wax pool then re-centre the wick. A wick dipper can be used to clean up excess wax inside the glass.

WICK TRIMMER
Use this tool to trim the wick to 6mm after each burn to maintain flame size, prevent “mushrooming” and soot.

SNUFFER
A candle snuffle is used to safely extinguish the candle.
